Seattle and Nails

I am leaving tomorrow to go to Seattle, WA to visit Clif's Aunt Cathy and Uncle Curt until Friday. We are going to the casino tomorrow after they pick me up from the airport. Cathy and I are going to play BINGO and hopefully win while Curt plays Texas Hold 'Em, hopefully he wins too. Hopefully I get to see their daughter, Tammy and meet their sons.
My Tastefully Simple's Spring conference starts Friday. We get to see all the new product that is coming out March 1, we get to taste it too!!! Our training is done on Sunday, then Clif's Uncle Larry and Aunt Diane are coming to get me and I will spend the day with them and hopefully meet their other 2 kids, I have already met Jennifer, she has a sailboat!! I fly back home on Monday. I don't know what Clif will do without me!!  HAHA.
I got my nails done for my trip. They are Jamberry Nails. It is a new direct selling business. The nails are vinyl stickers. You use a hairdryer to adhere them to the nail. They are suppose to stay on for 2 weeks, I'll let you know. Each sheet is $15 and you can easily do two sets of nails out of one sheet. You can also put them on your toe nails. They have a special that you get 4 sheets for $45! They have some real funky designs or solids too. They don't hurt your nails like acrylics do. Here are a couple pictures of them.

If you would like to try some out, go to my friend's website and order them. There is no shipping. www.mmotichka.jamberrynails.com

Clif and I are taking the train to Minot, ND on Feb. 15 to Minot, ND to visit his brother, Devan. We will come home Feb 29. Clif is going to do his taxes and go through some more stuff for a possible rummage sale this Spring.

Is this January?

If this is how our winter is going to be....I love it!!!  We have only had about 7" of snow. I took this picture this afternoon.

I got my grade back for the hardest test so far that other people had failed and got bad grades on. I got a 95% on it!!  WHEW! Guess I was stressing over nothing. I am mailing another test tomorrow. I am slowly getting done.

We haven't been doing anything too exciting. Clif has been shoveling the snow, cutting wood to keep us warm and still trying to figure out his fancy tv. I have been studying, organizing expos and enjoying retirement! I am organizing a big expo in March at the fairgrounds. The building will hold 30 vendors and I have 17 confirmed so far. I have another freezer meal workshop this Thursday night.

When Clif is done reading all the news and checking emails and I am tired of studying, it is late. We usually start watching a movie about midnight with a bowl of popcorn, go to bed about 2am and get up around 10am!!!  Nice, huh?? Good thing we are both night owls and have nothing to get up for!

Since we don't have cable...yet, Clif has been reserving movies from the library for us to watch. Clif's brother, Devan made me a couple dvds of home improvement shows for me. Thanks Devan!! You Rock!!!

Our neighbor lady, Jan called me today and told me she is going to introduce me to her beautician. I told her I need "the works", cut, color and eyebrow waxing!! I had that all done in October before I moved here. I REALLY need it done!! Clif doesn't think I need it. He's a man, what do they know???

Jan told me to bring my quilt tops over and she will help me finish them. She said I need to get out of the house more. I have LOTS of quilt tops to finish, it will be nice to get them complete.

Until next time.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a good New Years! Clif and I sat home, watched the movie, "Date Night" and had a bottle of wine.

I have been studying, studying, studying!! Trying to get done with my online Medical Transcription course. I have 6 tests to complete and then the FINAL!! Clif found a website that has helped me ALOT. He doesn't want me to have any blanks in the reports and expects ME to get A's!!! The last test I did was the hardest of them all!! I haven't gotten that grade back yet. Lots of other students have said they failed or gotten a bad grade on it, so I am a little worried. This is where I do my studying...on the couch with my blankie. The table next to me is my mini office. I do have an office in the spare room, but it is cold in there and I don't have the view of the mountains from in there.

Today, we had some snow flurries. We have lots of chick-a-dees. One is on the bird feeder we have. They prefer eating the suet, but that is gone, so they are stuck with the bird seed.

Clif cleaned out the shed so I have a place to put my van. He has also been keeping the wood stove going to keep me warm.

The weather can stay the way it has been. I think we can all handle this kind of winter!

Not much new

It has been awhile since I posted anything, so figured I better got on it so you know that I am still kickin'!

We really haven't been doing too much of anything too exciting.

Clif has been clearing out the shed to make a place for my van so it doesn't need to sit outside. My van has ALWAYS had a garage!! He is still figuring out his fancy surround sound system and big tv. Clif was in the attic today stringing the speaker wires to they aren't all over the walls and ceilings.

I have been getting back into my transcription course. Today, I finished course #4. Course #5, my last course, should be here tomorrow. Clif was helping me with some words I couldn't understand and he found a website that is really awesome and has helped me ALOT!! My plan is to complete the course before I come back to MN the end of May!!

We had a very quiet Christmas this year. I made a turkey, dressing and potatoes for us. I plan on making a turkey and dressing casserole with what is left, we'll get at least two meals out of that.

We have been getting movies from the library and usually watch a movie each night after the 10 p.m. news. We don't go to bed until 1 a.m. I usually roll out of bed around 10. Clif has the wood stove cleaned and fired up by then.

We have had a great winter..so far! We had a little snow, but nothing to talk about. It rained last night, so our snow is gone. There is snow on the mountains that I see out of my living room windows. I can handle these winters!! Hope yours is just as nice.

I'm sure Clif and I will be sitting at home watching movies and having some wine for New Years.

I hope you all have a very safe and Happy New Year!!

Expo news, new blog

Last Thursday, my friend that sells Arbonne and I went to the assisted living center and served the ladies lunch. They loved us being there!  They loved all the samples they had and even ordered some product. They all loved the wild rice soup and the vidalia onion dressing on their salads. My friend  gave them facials and put make-up on them. Her husband gave them foot scrubs.

Saturday, Clif and I drove to Browning to do an expo in the Elementary Gym. We got up around 5am and left at 6:45. It took us about 90 minutes to get there. We ran into snow, but the roads were fine. The expo was really slow! They even had some vendors that didn't show up. If it weren't for a couple of vendors, I wouldn't have sold much. I got 1 booking, 2 possible fundraisers and a potential consultant. I was serving wild rice soup. We were really tired at the end of the day. We stopped to get a Papa Murphy's pizza for supper.

Clif said I should have a Blog about expos, so I am starting one...Montana Expos. I am just getting it started, so give me some time to get it going. I also have one for facebook.

Today, we delivered more flyers for my upcoming expo around town, Whitefish and Columbia Falls. We stopped at a laundry mat to hang a poster and Clif found a gal's name that sells Scentsy. The gal I know that sells Scentsy wasn't able to be there and couldn't find anyone to take her place, so I was happy to find someone. I called her, and she was very excited to be able to do the expo!  I am up to 14 vendors, still waiting to hear back from some. People here just aren't in any big hurry for anything!!  SO different from MN. My expo is this Sunday, the 11th!!

We had a little snow the other night, but the ground is still pretty brown. It seems very strange NOT to have snow in December. I'm okay with no snow.

Tomorrow, we may attempt to put the new tv on the wall. Clif ordered a surround sound system for it and that was delivered today.

Stay warm.
